Firm History
The firm is a Native American Owned business and is certified by Tribal, State and Federal goverment agencies - (Certification as Navajo Owned since 1985); State - New Mexico and Arizona; and Federal governement agencies - (ie: Bureau of Indian Affairs, National Park Services, Indian Health Services).

Through our experience with many Native American communities in the Southwest, we have developed a working knowledge of tribal land use, tribal/federal government relationships, and local customs regarding decision making and problem-solving. The projetct team expertise has facilitated and enhanced the design and construction administration of projects developed in rural and isolated settings throughout Native American country in the Southwest. The firm has completed architectural and planning projects for many of the Native American communities throughout the Southwest Region of the United State, as well as federal agencies serving these communities.


Native American Employment and Training Plan
Mr. Sloan is committed to the advancement and training of Native American people in the fields of architecture and planning. Half of the staff at David N. Sloan is Native American; over 81% of the staff is minority/women. The firm has over ten years experience in architectural education and a demostrated commitment and ability to train, educate and involve Native American students/employees.

Sloan Architects is networking with other Native American firms to establish working relationships with other Indian Owned businesses and will make every effort to notify Native American construction enterprises of notices to make bids for work.
